Our Story
Rooted in rural Nebraska, built around the whole patient
Complete Rural Medicine was founded by board-certified nurse practitioners Ana Taylor and Chantel Collier, both honors graduates of Clarkson College in Omaha. They opened their first clinic in downtown Friend, Nebraska to give their community something that's hard to find in small towns: a family practice that takes the time to know you.
As the practice grew, so did its reach. Complete Rural Medicine expanded to Lincoln, adding Spanish-language care with nurse practitioner Amparo Fernandez and wellness services such as InBody body composition analysis, IV hydration and medical weight loss.
Through all of that growth, our approach hasn't changed. We start with excellent primary care, then go deeper with functional medicine when you need it, so you're not bounced between offices to get answers.

Board-certified family nurse practitioner Ana Taylor enjoys helping residents of Friend and Lincoln, Nebraska enjoy their days in better health. Education has always been a guiding force in Ana's life. She completed her nursing degree with honors at Clarkson College in Omaha and continues to broaden her skills so she can offer complete wellness treatment plans, including functional medicine, to the patients she cares for.
Improving health literacy is one of Ana's passions. She wants every patient to understand their own health and to have the information they need to guide their own care. Chronic disease management is another focus. Ana enjoys working closely with patients to improve their experience of chronic health issues and loves celebrating their wins along the way.
Outside the clinic, Ana loves spending time with her family and her dogs and enjoying the occasional movie night.

Chantel Collier is a board-certified nurse practitioner who helps patients from Friend and Lincoln, Nebraska reach and maintain optimal health. She studied nursing at Clarkson College in Omaha, where she graduated with honors, and she continues ongoing training to stay current on advances in medicine.
With more than two decades of experience, Chantel helps patients of all ages move through their own health journeys using comprehensive approaches to care. Her professional interests include women's health, including perimenopause and menopause care, as well as cardiac care and community wellness. She grounds her care in preventive health, teaching patients how to take a proactive role in their wellbeing.
When she's not with patients, Chantel enjoys time with friends and family, biking, staying active and traveling whenever she can.

Board-certified nurse practitioner Amparo Fernandez brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate approach to patient care at our Lincoln clinic. Over a nursing career spanning more than a decade, she spent eight years in hemodialysis, three years as a rehabilitation nurse and two years as a clinical instructor, helping train the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Originally from Peru, Amparo is fluent in Spanish and deeply values her role serving Lincoln's Hispanic community. She is passionate about primary care, preventive care and patient education, and she cares for whole families, including women's hormone care, weight management and functional medicine for patients who prefer a more natural approach. Amparo holds a Master of Science in Nursing, a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Public Health from Frontier Nursing University.

What our providers' credentials mean
Nurse practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses with graduate-level training who diagnose, treat and prescribe. Under Nebraska law (LB 107, 2015), nurse practitioners who complete 2,000 hours of transition-to-practice experience may practice independently, including prescribing medication.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. A state license that allows nurse practitioners to evaluate, diagnose, order tests, prescribe and manage treatment.

Who founded Complete Rural Medicine?
Complete Rural Medicine was founded by board-certified family nurse practitioners Ana Taylor, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, and Chantel Collier, MSN, APRN, FNP-C. Both earned their nursing degrees with honors at Clarkson College in Omaha. Ana is the practice's owner.
Who are the providers at Complete Rural Medicine?
Our providers are Ana Taylor, MSN, APRN, FNP-C; Chantel Collier, MSN, APRN, FNP-C; and Amparo Fernandez, APRN, MSN, MBA, MPH, FNP-BC. All three are board-certified family nurse practitioners licensed in Nebraska.
Can a nurse practitioner be my primary care provider?
Yes. Family nurse practitioners are trained and board-certified to provide primary care for patients of all ages, including exams, diagnosis, lab orders, prescriptions and chronic disease management. In Nebraska, nurse practitioners can practice independently after completing 2,000 hours of transition-to-practice experience.
What do FNP-C and FNP-BC mean?
Both are national board certifications for family nurse practitioners. FNP-C is awarded by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), and FNP-BC is awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Do you have a Spanish-speaking provider?
Yes. Amparo Fernandez, APRN, FNP-BC, is fluent in Spanish and sees patients at our Lincoln clinic.
Do you take insurance?
We work with many insurance plans. If we are not in your network, or you don't have insurance, we offer self-pay rates. Call our office and we'll help you understand your options.
